Appointments

Please schedule well child visits several weeks in advance of the date you wish to visit.  This allows us to keep same day appointments available for sick children.  We generally have appointments available to book three months ahead of the date.  If you are unable to make your appointment please cancel with as much notice as possible so that your time slot may be given to another patient.

For sick children we make every effort to see him or her the same day as you call.  Please try to call as early in the day as you can.

It is the nature of pediatric practice that our doctors may be delayed with an emergency or an issue that takes longer to address than the time allotted.  We make every effort to stay on schedule but we ask for your understanding if we sometimes run behind.  You can help us keep on schedule by arriving on time to your appointments.

Calling with Questions

Please feel free to call us during office hours with any questions.  A member of our staff will be happy to help you.  Medical questions are answered by a registered nurse during office hours.  After hours a physician is available for emergency questions. A triage nurse is available for late night questions.  If you have an urgent need, acute problem or emergency that cannot wait until our regular business hours, please call our office and have the answering service page the on call physician.  Our office number is 401-615-2299. You should receive a return call within thirty minutes. If you do not receive a call back from the on call physician within an hour, please try again. In the event of a life-threatening emergency you should dial 911 or proceed to the emergency room.

Prescription Refills

For routine prescription refills consider using our patient portal.  If you call we will need the child’s name, date of birth,  the name and dosage of the medication, and the pharmacy.  We require at least 24 hours notice to refill prescriptions and ask that you call during office hours so that we have your child’s information readily available. 
We will be unable to fill requests for antibiotics, steroids, pain medicines or any medicines that cover acute medical problems over the phone.  In such circumstances it is best we see your child to determine the most appropriate medical treatment.

Billing

We try to keep our charges as reasonable as possible.  In order to reduce our billing charges we ask that you pay your co pay at the time of service.  Please inform us of any insurance changes as soon as they occur and always bring your insurance card with you to your visit.  Our billing is done at the Coastal Medical Corporate office.  Please direct all billing questions to 421-0011.

Form Requests

We are happy to provide you with health forms for school, camp, or sports.  At your child’s yearly check up you will be provided a standardized form that will often suffice for this purpose.  If you have a special form request please be aware that we will need 3 business days to process them.  If you enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request we will gladly mail the forms back to you.  Please complete the portions of the forms that are known to you including immunizations.  It is always a good idea to keep a list of the dates of your child’s immunizations so you should copy these dates if you do not have them.  There is a $5.00 charge for each sports, camp, or school form completed except at your child’s physical exam.  There is no charge for WIC forms.  Please notify the staff if this charge presents financial hardship.  You may fax forms to 401-615-7529.
