Clinical laboratory testing plays a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Coastal Medical laboratory is committed to providing useful tests with high quality results that are accurate, reliable and available in a timely and cost-effective manner.

NOTE:  Lab Services During the Coronavirus Outbreak

Coastal Medical laboratory services will be available at select locations. Please check our hours and directions page for a link to most updated information regarding availability and check in procedures. Please do not visit the laboratory if you have a cough, shortness of breath or a fever over 100.4 degrees.

Coastal Medical employs well trained professionals who specialize in Clinical Laboratory Science. They perform a wide range of clinical procedures on patient specimens. These procedures include preparing specimens for examination, counting cells, looking for abnormal cells. All Coastal laboratory testing personnel are required to possess both the appropriate national certification (NCA or ASCP) and have an active professional license issued by the Rhode Island Department of Health.

Coastal Medical and Lifespan Look to Join Together to Expand Health Care in Rhode Island - 02/06/20

Feb. 6, 2020 (PROVIDENCE, R.I.) – Coastal Medical and Lifespan have signed a Letter of Intent to pursue an affiliation in which Coastal, a large Rhode Island independent primary care provider, would join Lifespan’s comprehensive academic health care system.
