Elizabeth Lange MD, named Rhode Island’s first “Childhood Immunization Champion”
Dr. Elizabeth B. Lange, a favorite pediatrician in our Waterman Pediatrics office, has been named Rhode Island's first "Childhood Immunization Champion," under a new award program by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC selected one champion in each state. Dr. Michael Fine, Rhode Island health director, said that Lange "protects children and saves lives" through her work "on the front lines as a pediatrician and behind the scenes on issues of immunization policy."
Lange serves on numerous boards and panels that aim to improve immunization rates in Rhode Island, including the Health Department's Vaccine Advisory Committee, the Primary Care Physician Advisory Council and the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, of which she is past president.
