Office Hours
Our office is open Monday through Friday 9 AM - 5 PM and there is an on-call doctor available for urgent matters at all other times.

Well-child Appointments
Well exams are scheduled three months in advance. Please make your appointment as early as possible to allow the most flexibility in physician choice and time of day. We suggest that you select one doctor as your primary pediatrician, and we will try to accommodate your scheduling preferences as much as possible. During the COVID pandemic we want to minimize the number of people in the office for everyone’s safety. We prefer one caregiver and no extra siblings attend your child’s visit. If you have a special situation that requires more adults or children in the room, please let us know.

Sick Appointments
We available by phone from 7am – 5pm Monday thru Friday. After 5pm, urgent calls are automatically forwarded to the answering service. Our phones are less busy between the hours of 10:30 and 12 noon and between 1:30 and 3:30 in the afternoon. You may get through more easily at those times. Same day sick Televisits can be made throughout the day. If you think you may want your child to be seen, please call as early as possible. During the COVID pandemic, respiratory illnesses may be referred to our special Coastal facility at Bald Hill Pediatrics which has been designed for the safety of our patients and providers. There you will be evaluated by a Coastal M.D./Provider. Always call us first and we will help make the appropriate arrangements. Non respiratory illness can still be seen here at our office. If you feel that the problem you wish to discuss is complicated or you plan to have more than one child seen, please let the office staff know when you schedule the appointment so extra time can be allotted.

After Hours
If you have a problem after hours, please call our office.  The answering service will forward your name and phone number to the doctor on call.  You should receive a return call within one hour of leaving your message.   If you have not heard from the doctor within an hour please call again.  In the event of an emergency we recommend you dial 911 or proceed to the Emergency Room.  In the unlikely event of a phone malfunction you can reach the answering service directly at 401-536-9729.

If you are unable to make your appointment please cancel with as much notice as possible so that your time slot may be filled by another patient. 

We try to keep our charges as reasonable as possible.  In order to reduce our billing charges we ask that you pay the receptionist at the end of the visit. We will give you a receipt at that time for your records or to submit to your insurance company.  Please inform us of any insurance changes as soon as they occur.  Our billing is done at the Coastal Medical corporate office.  Please direct all billing questions to 421-0011. Televisits including video and phone, are run through your insurance. Just be aware, if you have a deductible or copay it may apply to these visits.

Health Forms
Our patients are very active in school, summer camps, sports and other activities that require health forms to be completed.  These forms are often complicated and take time to complete.  Please allow 3 business days to have your forms completed.  If you enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope we will gladly mail the forms back to you.  Please complete the portions of the form that are known to you, including the immunization records.  If you do  not know your child's vaccination dates please copy the completed form for your records.  There is a $5 charge for each sports, camp or school form completed.  There is no charge for WIC forms.  Please notify the staff if this charge presents a financial hardship.  You may fax forms to us at 751-8734.

Patient Portal
Through the patient portal, you can access your child's immunization history, medication list, lab results and summary of your child's most recent visit. COVID CHANGES: The patient portal is a way to access TELEMEDICINE. Please contact the office to reset your password or to sign up over the phone. We can also assist you with downloading the HEALOW app for your phone.

Hospital Affiliations
We admit our patients to Hasbro Children's Hospital and Women & Infants' Hospital.

Call Partners
We currently share after hours call on weeknights and weekends with TOLL GATE PEDIATRICS. Therefore, the doctor returning your call may not be from Waterman Pediatrics but is still Coastal providers and has access to your health information. We feel fortunate to have such outstanding physicians sharing in our after-hours patient care.
